In December 2024 the Elgin-St. Thomas Community Foundation announced on Facebook:
“We are excited to support Planet Youth, an upstream prevention model working to end substance abuse among youth by addressing root causes and promoting healthier choices. Planet Youth has a dedicated fund within our foundation, making it easy for anyone who wants to contribute directly to this vital cause. We’re also proud to be sitting at the table as a committee member with community partners to help guide this important work forward.
“Additionally, a small grant from our Greatest Needs Fund supported a community forum to raise awareness and drive solutions to this pressing issue. Together, we’re creating safer, healthier communities and giving youth the tools they need to thrive.”
